“Wait Until Dark” will make the Halloween weekend even more rousing.

“This live production of the suspenseful thriller will keep you at the edge of your seat,” Beverly Theatre Guild officials said.

Many will know this play from the famous movie version starring Audrey Hepburn, who was nominated for both the Academy and Golden Globe awards for best actress.

The first Broadway production starred Lee Remick, who was nominated for a Tony Award for the same part.

The action takes place in a basement apartment in Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City.

Susy, a recently blind woman, is unwittingly in possession of a doll full of drugs.

She is alone when three con men wrangle their way in, pretending to be people they are not.

Susy and her young neighbor Gloria try to take control of the situation and a deadly cat and mouse ensues.

All performances will be at the Baer Theatre at Morgan Park Academy Arts Center, 2153 W. 111th St., Chicago.

Shows are slated for 8 p.m. Oct. 28-29 and 2 p.m. Oct. 30.

Reservations: (773) 284-8497, beverlytheatreguild.org. Tickets also will be available at the door.
