Two new restaurants are set to open this summer in Orland Park.
Uncle Julio’s, a Texas-based chain specializing in Mexican food, will locate in the space now occupied by Harrison’s Restaurant & Brewery, 15845 S. LaGrange Road, according to Joe La Margo, village public information officer. The restaurant could open sometime in July.
At Orland Square Mall, Zoup! Fresh Soup Co. plans to open in June in the mall’s remodeled food court. The chain, which is expanding in Illinois, says it offers a variety of soups — including low-fat, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free options — along with sandwiches and salads. Zoup! currently has two restaurants in the Chicago area — Downers Grove and Warrenville.
Franchisees Mohammad Mansour, Faris Ballouta and Minwar Ballouta will operate the Orland Square location.
Uncle Julio’s plans to undertake a “substantial renovation” of the Harrison’s location, La Margo said. The partnership that owns and operates Harrison’s will lease the space to the Mexican restaurant chain, but it’s unclear whether Harrison’s, which opened in 1997, will relocate. A partner in the business declined to comment on plans.
Harrison’s website indicates that the brewpub is currently “closed for remodeling.”
Uncle Julio’s currently has two Illinois locations — in Chicago, at 855 W. North Ave., and in Lombard. The chain also has restaurants in Georgia, Maryland and Virginia.
