St. James to host fair

Franciscan St. James Health is sponsoring the 10th annual Frankfort Wellness Fair set for 8:30 a.m. to noon Feb. 2 at the Founders Center, 140 Oak St.
Hosted by the Village of Frankfort and the Frankfort Park District, admission to the fair is free of charge.
In addition to free refreshments and giveaways, the fair will include informational exhibits that focus on prevention and awareness. There will be screenings for blood glucose and cholesterol, blood pressure, pulmonary (spirometry), osteoporosis and body mass index.
Attendees also may receive free flu shots, while supplies last.
Franciscan St. James physicians will be available throughout the day to address questions in their area of specialty.
The fair also will feature healthy cooking demonstrations and four seminars.
The seminars include “Microdermabrasion and Laser Rejuvenation” at 9:30 a.m. by Dr. MariAnn Herbert; “Understanding End of Life Care” at 9:45 a.m. by Dr. Rakesh Chugh, Vitas Hospice medical director, and Janine Rossi Franciscan St. James Palliative care director; “Understanding and Preventing Back and Neck Pain” at 10:40 a.m. by Tim Coleman, physical therapist, Mett Therapy Services; and “Burn Fat and Boost Metabolism” at 10:45 a.m. by Kelly Devine Rickert, Franciscan St. James dietitian.
New features at this year’s fair include free 10-minute chair massages and learning about early heart attack care.
