Here are events worth getting out of the house for on July 11.

GEOLOGY NEVER TASTED SO GOOD: Oak Lawn Public Library will present this program at 3 p.m. at 9427 S. Raymond Ave. Fourth- to eighth-graders can play games, eat rocks, sample minerals and discover local geology with a naturalist from the Forest Preserve District of Cook County. TEEN MOVIE NIGHT: Richton Park Public Library will screen “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2” at 6:30 p.m. at 4045 Sauk Trail. Popcorn will be served. There is limited seating so call to check availability for this program. Information: (708) 481-5333, richtonparklibrary.org.

HILLBILLY ROCKSTARZ: This free concert in the park will kick off at 7 p.m. at the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center band shell, 8125 W. 171st St. The band specializes in covering the latest hits in country music and some old favorites while staying true to the originals.
