PLOWS council holding forum on Medicare programs

Updated: November 14, 2013 6:14AM

The PLOWS Council on Aging, a nonprofit that serves individuals 60 and older in Palos, Lemont, Orland and Worth townships, will hold a seminar on Medicare Part D prescription coverage and Medicare Savings Programs at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at 7808 W. College Drive, 5th Floor, Palos Heights.

PLOWS counselors will discuss what to look for when choosing a Medicare D plan; what happens if one doesn’t sign up, and the “doughnut hole.”

Information about assistance programs available to those struggling to pay the premiums for Medicare Parts B and D also will be discussed.

Participants who want PLOWS to assess personal Part D plans should bring a current prescription printout from a pharmacy and Medicare card. Space is limited. To register, call (708) 361-0219.
