Board releases meeting dates
The Frankfort Fire Protection District board meets the third Tuesday of the month from January to October and the second Tuesday of the month in November and December at Frankfort Fire Station No. 1, 333 W. Nebraska St.
Public Comments limited to three minutes per speaker.
The Frankfort Firefighters’ Pension Fund board will meet at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 5, May 7, Aug. 6 and Nov. 5 at Frankfort Fire Station No. 1.

ORLAND PARK
Library to show ‘Winter in Wartime’
Orland Park Public Library, 14921 S. Ravinia Ave., will show the 2008 movie “Winter in Wartime” starring Martijn Lakemeier as part of its Adult Film Series from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
In the movie, a 13-year-old boy becomes involved with the resistance after coming to the aid of a wounded British soldier in Nazi-occupied Holland in 1945.
The movie is rated R and runs 1 hour and 46 minutes.

Park district to offer tree recycling
The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District will host a holiday tree and light recycling event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Jan. 5 at Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center, 20000 S. Western Ave., Olympia Fields.
Completely undecorated trees can be dropped off in the Vollmer Road parking lot. Old and broken light strings and extension cords will be collected at Irons Oaks, the Marie Irwin Community Center, Wiley’s Grill, the H-F Ice Arena and the H-F Racquet and Fitness Club until Jan. 10.
