Lemont High School to host Faculty Idol 7
The speech team at Lemont High School will present Faculty Idol 7 at 7 p.m. Friday in the school’s Performing Arts Center, 800 Porter St.
Money raised will benefit the school’s speech program.
This year, the contest will put all musical performance styles back on the table. More than 10 faculty or student duets or groups are slated to appear.
Tickets are $10, and can be purchased at secure2.ticketguys.com/LemontHighSchool/Attractions.ashx. Tickets also will be available at the door while they last.

Orland Township to host electronics recycling event
Sustainable Saturday will take place 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Orland Township Highway Department, 16125 S. Wolf Road.
Co-hosted by Vintage Tech Recyclers, of Romeoville, assistance will be available for unloading electronics to be recycled.
Items accepted include televisions, liquid crystal display monitors, computers, laptop computers, computer mouses, printers, fax machines, copiers, scanners, modems, CD drives, VCRs, keyboards, DVD players and microwaves.

Lipinski plans art competition
U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-3rd) has organized a Congressional Art Competition for high school students in his district.
The winning piece will be displayed in the Capitol complex in Washington, D.C., for visitors to view for the next year. The winner also will receive two round-trip tickets to Washington for the exhibition. The runner-up will have his artwork displayed in Lipinski’s Washington office for one year.
Entries must be received at Lipinski’s district offices in Chicago at 6245 S. Archer Ave.; Oak Lawn at 5309 W. 95th St.; Orland Park at 14700 Ravinia Ave.; or Lockport at 222. E. 9th St. A high-resolution file also may be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Artwork must be received no later than Monday.

PSC to host job fair
The Spring Job Fair will take place 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in Prairie State College’s Conference Center. 202 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights.
Co-sponsored with UPS, the Chicagoland Regional College Program and the PSC Illinois workNet Center, the job fair is free of charge.
