Peotone set for three-day music festival

The festival will feature a wide variety of music performed by live bands. A weekend admission pass is $20, or $15 for seniors and children under 12. A daily pass is $12, while a per-band pass is $5.
Kid-friendly activities include a Midsummer Night’s Idol Contest to be judged by Peotone School teachers Chelsea McKay and Nora French. There will be two divisions: ages 16 and younger, and ages 17 and older. Prizes will be awarded to the top three individuals in each division, with first place getting $100, second $50, and third $25.
A kids dance with a disc jockey will be held at the tennis courts from 7 to 10 p.m. July 20. Admission is $10.
A farmers market is to take place from 9 a.m. to noon July 20 in the park district parking lot.
Food vendors will be available throughout the festival, and beverages will be provided by Throwbacks II.
The park district is seeking local business sponsors, who will be allowed to set up booths from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 20.
The July 19 schedule includes the Idol competition for ages 16 and younger from 5 to 7 p.m., the Triexplosion Steel Drum Band playing from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., and the Idol competition for ages 17 and older from 10 p.m. to midnight.
On July 20, the vendor event is slated from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; a farmers market from 9 a.m. to noon; Idol finals in both divisions from noon to 3 p.m.; the Aardvark Army band playing from 3 to 5 p.m.; the Silhouettes from 6 to 9 p.m.; a kids dance from 7 to 10 p.m. at the tennis courts; and the Greg Schneider Band from 9:30 p.m. to midnight.
July 21 will feature the Jazz Time Big Band from 1 to 4 p.m., the Gotcha Covered Jazz Band from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., and KO Bossy from 7 to 10 p.m.
