Here she comes … Giuliana Rancic ... hosting the “Miss USA” pageant airing live from Las Vegas at 8 p.m. June 3 on NBC-TV (Channel 5).
The ladies who want the crown can expect first-class treatment by Rancic.
The “E! News” host said, “I treat them like they’re Julia Roberts or Meryl Streep on the red carpet. I treat them like any A-list actress. This is their moment.”
Rancic knows their pageant pain.
“I was in the Miss Maryland pageant, but never made it to the national level. I do know how nerve-wracking it is to be on that stage,” she said.
It was Donald Trump who personally hired her to host the event, which will take place at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
“It wasn’t an easy job to get. You had to get Donald’s approval and blessing,” Rancic said. “He loves this pageant. He just wants everything to go off without a hitch.”
Would she ever consider a stint on Trump’s TV show “The Celebrity Apprentice”?
“I met with them last season,” said Rancic, who is married to Orland Park native Bill Rancic.
“It was a scheduling thing. I’ve always been a fan of the show and my husband was the first Apprentice,” Giuliana Rancic said.
“Bill said, ‘You realize second place isn’t good enough. I came in first place, so you would have to win.’ That’s a lot of pressure.”
As for her baby, which is arriving via surrogate this year, the cancer survivor laughs when asked about rumors that she’s already planning on baby No 2.
“We’re so excited. I always said I want to have four or five kids. I’d love a big brood,” Rancic said.
“There are no plans in the near future for baby two. We’re just enjoying the excitement of right now.”
She sighed when talking about her hubby.
“One of my passions is hiking with my husband. I know that sounds so lame. I love being with my husband,” Rancic said.
“We’re best friends. In six years, we’ve never had a fight.
“There is nothing I love more than being alone in nature with him talking about life.”
