Here is a look at upcoming auditions.

Casting Calls include an invite for new members to join the Center Singers in Palos Park.

CENTER SINGERS: The Center, 12700 Southwest Highway, Palos Park, invites new members to join its choir, which rehearses from 7-8 p.m. Mondays.

The choir performs once a month on Sunday afternoons at Wayside Chapel Vespers services and at special seasonal Center events. The choir is led by director Penny Wills and accompanied by rehearsal pianist Shirley Swanson.

UNIVERSITY OF ST. FRANCIS: Two musical ensembles, the Concert Chorale and Bernie’s Band, are seeking new members.

Joliet-area musicians are invited to join these groups, which consist of students, employees, alumni and members of the local community.

Concert Chorale is a choir that meets at the university from 7-9 p.m. Mondays with some performances throughout the year. Information: USF professor Will Thomen at (815) 740-5043.

Bernie’s Band also meets at the university with varying practice times. The group provides music at all home football games as well as other special events. Information: USF professor Robert Stumpf at rstumpf@stfrancis.edu.

The University of St. Francis in Joliet serves 3,400 students nationwide, offering 44 undergraduate programs, four degree-completion programs and 15 graduate programs, including two doctoral programs.

THE THEATRE OF WESTERN SPRINGS: Opportunities to learn new skills, make new friends and join the world of theater are available. The only requirement is a seven-play season subscription.

Celebrating its 84th season, the Theatre of Western Springs is looking for lobby and backstage volunteers to help before and/or during the performances.

Taking tickets and serving refreshments are just some of the responsibilities of the volunteer members called Actives.

Backstage opportunities include stage managing, costumes, makeup, props, lights, sound, set construction and set painting.
