Pro Wrestling: PCW event features Rogers’ return, Hardy

Whether you’re a fan of mainstream wrestling or the independent scene, Pro Championship Wrestling has something for you on Oct. 20.
That’s when the promotion will return to the Don Preston Recreation Center, 14500 S. Kostner Ave., Midlothian, with former WWE superstar Matt Hardy and Reby Sky facing off against PCW’s Joe Heisman and December.
The Oct. 20 event also will feature the in-ring return of Sonny Rogers, who last saw action on the mat in 2006.
“So many of my friends and co-workers never had a chance to see me wrestle at a live event, and my only matches are on YouTube from my time in the World Wrestling Federation, World Championship Wrestling, American Wrestling Association, PCW, Windy City Pro Wrestling, etc.,” he said.
“At 52 I am still in good physical shape as I still work out five days a week plus run and swim. (I’m) a little thinning on top, but I can still go and perform a decent 10- to 15-minute match.
“I am donating my payoff and any sales of my cheesy 8-by-10-inch (photo) to nine of my co-workers at Southwest Airlines who were terminated under questionable circumstances.
“I also wanted to do this for Red Bastein, who I think was a tremendous wrestler and person.”
Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show. Tickets are $15. Information: pcwwrestling.net.
