Here is a look at upcoming auditions.

Casting calls include Southland Area Theatre Ensemble’s auditions for “Assassins.”

SOUTHLAND AREA THEATRE ENSEMBLE: The community theater group, which stages productions at Governors State University in University Park, will conduct auditions for “Assassins” by Stephen Sondheim on Nov. 15-16. Auditions are by appointment only between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Information: slatetheatre.org, where one can schedule an appointment slot and download an audition form.

COUNCILS OF ISLAMIC ORGANIZATIONS OF GREATER CHICAGO & MTM GROUP CHICAGO: Talented Chicago youth are sought to be a part of an inaugural showcase.

“We are using respect as a message to combat violence while supporting something positive at the same time,” officials said.

Respect the Youth starring Freeway and featuring notrydo.sincere will be a youth showcase that rewards and encourages youth giving out respect. One lucky artist will win a flash drive project.

The event will take place Nov. 11 at the Harold Washington Cultural Center, 4701 S. King Drive, Chicago.

Amidst Chicago’s reported violence in several communities, this showcase will spread respect from the youth to the community. “Respect combats violence,” officials said.

Ages 13-20 are asked to submit a video of their talent to respectchicago@gmail.com, and 16 youths will be selected.

The showcase also is vendor-friendly and seeking local vendors who want to sell their merchandise. Space is limited.

“THE AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE”: GSN is again on a nationwide search to discover the next champions of what officials called the network’s highest-rated original series of all time,.

The second season of the hit series “The American Bible Challenge,” hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, is slated to air in 2013.

This November and December, casting directors will be traveling to select cities across the United States searching for teams of three who want to have fun and compete to win money for their favorite charity.

Not limited to these select cities, casting is open to all enthusiastic contestant teams around the country. Eligible teams should have competitive spirits, great personal testimonies and, of course, an outstanding knowledge of the Bible.

Casting sessions are ongoing in Los Angeles through Dec. 1 and also will take place in Memphis, Tenn., on Nov. 15; Nashville, Tenn., and Detroit on Nov. 17; and Atlanta and Dallas on Dec. 1.

JO FRONT TV SHOW: TLC and the producers of the TV show “The Biggest Loser” have come together for a new show.

Billed as America’s favorite nanny, Jo Frost is back and ready to use her expertise to assist families who have run out of options and need her help.

“Are you a family in crisis? If you are a parent with kids ranging from toddlers to teenagers in need of desperate help, we are searching for you,” officials said.

“Are you at your wit’s end? Are your kids lying, bullying, drinking, failing out of school or even something worse? Or are you just overwhelmed with your family’s circumstances and don’t know what to do?
