PARK FOREST

Food Co-op to host program on aronia berries

The South Suburban Food Co-op will host a discussion on aronia berries by Crete resident John E. Pilcher, of Coldbrook Farm, at 1 p.m. Thursday at 208 Forest Blvd., Park Forest.

Aronia berries are a high antioxidant superfruit native to North America. The co-op’s berries are grown in Illinois.

Baked goods will be available to sample.

FRANKFORT

Park district to host Kids Garage Sale

The Frankfort Park District will host its Kids Garage Sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Founders Center, 140 Oak St., Frankfort.

Only children’s items will be sold, and children can sell their own merchandise with parental supervision. The cost is $15 per spot.

PALOS HEIGHTS

District 128 to host band fundraiser

Palos Heights School District 128 will host its fourth annual All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast fundraiser for the school band from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Independence Junior High School, 6610 W. Highland Drive, Palos Heights.

Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Children age 3 and younger will be admitted for free.

HOMEWOOD

Library to offer bubble wrap program

Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day for teens at 1 p.m. Saturday. Participants will build bubble-wrap rockets.

Library to host writing class

Evergreen Park Public Library, 9400 S. Troy Ave., will offer classes on personal and professional writing taught by Christine Sneed from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays through Feb. 11.
