Prescription Drug Abuse: The Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery at Ingalls Health System will host a free seminar by Dr. Peter Bradley on the current trends surrounding prescription drug abuse at 6 p.m. Monday at the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center, 8125 W. 171st St., Tinley Park. Mental Health: Palos Community Hospital is offering two free mental health programs. Dr. Harcharan Sandhu and Catherine Watkins, a licensed clinical social worker, will discuss social anxiety disorder and positive options regarding medication and behavioral interventions at 7 p.m. Feb. 2. The second program, “Why Can’t I Change Myself?” will be led by John Brogan, licensed clinical social worker, who will focus on change issues related to resolving depression, anxiety, recurrent relationship issues, and addictions or bad habits at 7 p.m. Feb. 7.
