Stroke Club: Ingalls offers the Stroke Club for people and their families who have been impacted by strokes. The next meeting is 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Ingalls Center for Outpatient Rehabilitation, 1551 Huntington Drive, Calumet City. Information: (708) 915-4726.

Children’s Orthopedic Assessment Clinic: Oak Lawn Elks Lodge No. 2254 and Chicago South Elks Lodge No. 1596, in cooperation with the
Illinois Elks Children’s Care Program, will have a free children’s orthopedic assessment clinic 2 to
4 p.m. Wednesday at Parkview Musculoskeletal Institute, 7600 W. College Drive, Palos Heights. The clinic is a chance for a child to be reviewed for bone and joint development. Children who might have feet pointing out or who complain of back, knee, ankle or leg pain or who has a back curvature can be seen at this clinic. The Elks will provide financial assistance to their best of their ability for children needing further treatment or specialty equipment when the family lacks sufficient resources to do so, according to a spokesman. Mental Health: Palos Community Hospital is offering two free mental health programs. Dr. Harcharan Sandhu and Catherine Watkins, a licensed clinical social worker, will discuss social anxiety disorder and positive options regarding medication and behavioral interventions at 7 p.m. Thursday. The second program, “Why Can’t I Change Myself?” will be led by John Brogan, licensed clinical social worker, who will focus on change issues related to resolving depression, anxiety, recurrent relationship issues, and addictions or bad habits at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Total Lipid Profile Testing: Orland Township is hosting total lipid profile testing 8:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at Orland Township, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park. A 9-to-12 hour fast is required. The price of the test is $25 with proof of residency. Non-residents may participate for $30. Blood pressure and glucose testing are available for an additional $5. Weight Loss and Healthy Living Program: The Wellness Committee at Pilgrim Faith Church will hold
a 10-week weight loss and healthy living program people who want a spiritual approach to living well.

Heart Screenings: MetroSouth Medical Center is offering heart and circulation screenings for $40. The “Healthy Heart and Circulation Exam” is discounted from its original value of $250. The check-ups will include a series of tests, including an electrocardiogram-monitored exercise exam, blood pressure test and blood work to measure cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose levels. Emergency Bracelets: Orland Township residents may purchase a stainless-steel bracelet for $10 or gold bracelet for $12, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday at the Orland Township building, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park. Each bracelet is identified by a number and contains a slip of paper in which to include vital information. During the time of purchase, a form must be filled out containing the bracelet identification number, contact information, allergies, medical conditions and any medications the bracelet user is currently taking.
