Speech Screenings: In recognition of Better Speech and Hearing Month, speech pathologists with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago at Silver Cross Hospital, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox, will offer free 15-minute pediatric speech and language screenings throughout May. Wellness Wednesday: Orland Township is hosting Wellness Wednesday 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. May 23 in the Orland Township Activity Center, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park. Residents can have their blood pressure and blood sugar checked. Also, a basic cholesterol screening is offered for $5 and the test requires a 12-hour fast. Skin Cancer Screenings: In recognition of National Skin Cancer Awareness month, Silver Cross will offer free full-body skin cancer screenings 5 to 6:30 p.m. May 24 and 9 to 10:30 a.m. May 25 at the Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health, 1870 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox.
