TINLEY PARK
Library to host eReader classes
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday for eReader classes at Tinley Park Public Library, 7851 Timber Drive.
Owners of a Kindle, Nook, Sony or Kobo can sign up to learn how to borrow books from Media on Demand, the library’s ebook lending service.
The class size is limited to eight students. Check with the library for dates and times. Information: (708) 532-0160, Ext. 3.
PARK FOREST
Nature center to host Bird Hike
Thorn Creek Nature Center, 247 Monee Road, Park Forest, will host its free Morning Bird Hike for participants age 16 and older from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday.
A naturalist from the Forest Preserve District of Will County will lead participants in exploring the calls of various birds. Participants can bring binoculars and bird guides and should dress appropriately for the weather. Registration is required by Thursday. Information: (708) 946-2216.
OAK LAWN
‘Captain America’
The Oak Lawn Park District will host a free showing of the 2011 superhero film “Captain America: The First Avenger” starring Chris Evans and Tommy Lee Jones at dusk Friday on the village green at 95th Street and 52nd Avenue in Oak Lawn. Information: (708) 857-2222 or info@olparks.com.
