Free Meals: The First Baptist Church of University Park, 450 University Parkway, is offering free breakfast and lunch for children ages 2 to 18 on weekdays through Aug. 31. Installation: Temple Anshe Sholom, 20820 S. Western Ave., Olympia Fields, will have a barbecue following the Shabbat Service at 6 p.m. July 27. Theology On Tap: St. Xavier University hosts Theology on Tap, a free discussion series for Catholics in their 20s and 30s, at McDonough Chapel at SXU’s Chicago campus, 3700 W. 103rd St. The final session is 7:30 p.m. Aug. 1. It will focus on “Jesus: Is He the One or Shall We Look for Another?” with Graziano Marcheschi, executive director for St. Xavier University Ministry.

Reel Men: The Reel Men of New Life Church in New Lenox will host their fourth annual free fishing outing for youths Aug. 4 at Nelson Prairie in New Lenox, approximately a half mile south of Laraway Road on the east side of Nelson Road. Registration starts at 9:15 a.m. with fishing starting at 10 a.m. and concluding about 11 a.m. Awards will be given in several age categories. Lunch will be served after the awards ceremony. Parents accompanying a child should have a current state fishing license which are available at Walmart or Kmart. Reel Men will have a few extra poles and bait available as well as assistance. Free Meals: Up to 100 free meals will be served on a first-come, first-served basis at the Menard Center, 90th and Menard, Oak Lawn, at 6 p.m. Aug. 26. “One Community: One Meal Prepared Together, Shared Together” is a joint venture of several Oak Lawn churches and members of The Mosque Foundation in Bridgeview. An interfaith team of Christians and Muslims has worked together for nine months to plan, prepare and serve the meal. A similar meals will be served Sept. 23.

Genealogy: The Illiana Jewish Genealogical Society meets at 2 p.m. Aug. 26 at Congregation Am Echad, 160 Westwood Drive, Park Forest, for a program by founding member Roslyn Greenberg on “What is in a Name?,” exploring why Jewish names changed frequently.
