COUNTRY CLUB HILLS
Brain Tumor Awareness Walk
The third annual The Mary E. Smith Brain Tumor Awareness Walk will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Community Walk Path, 4200 W. 183rd St., Country Club Hills.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and warm-up begins at 8:45 a.m.
The event’s goal is to increase brain tumor awareness and help raise money to support research and scholarship program, walk officials said. Ten percent of the proceeds will benefit the American Brain Tumor Association.

SOUTHLAND
Chorale to begin 17th season
The 90-voice Lincoln-Way Area Chorale will begin its 17th season on Monday at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox.
The chorale, under the direction of new artistic director Gregory Day, has members from more than 10 communities in the south suburbs. Membership in the chorale is open to any adult that enjoys singing and desires to perform with other adults.
Two formal concerts are presented each year in December and April. The chorale also has performed with the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, appeared at the Rialto Theater with the American Legion Band, and performed a benefit concert in Lockport.
There are limited openings in the soprano and alto sections, with several openings in the male tenor and bass sections.

PALOS HEIGHTS
Center to host musical
Lake Katherine Nature Center, 7402 Lake Katherine Drive, Palos Heights, will host a musical show titled “A Little Help from my Friends” at 6 p.m. Saturday.
The show examines friendship in its many forms and features songs by John Lennon and Paul McCartney; Marvin Hamlisch, Stephen Sondheim and more.
Tickets are $35 and include a pre-show reception. Seating is limited.
