Here is a look at what Southlanders are accomplishing in the military including news from Lockport, Park Forest, Richton Park, Calumet City, Chicago and Alsip.
Broadway graduated basic training
Air Force Airman Jordan J. Broadway graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Broadway is the son of Jesse Broadway, of Crest Hill, and Beverly Broadway, of Richton Park. He is a 2010 graduate of Lockport Township High School.
Alexander completes Air Force training
Air Force Airman Charee K. Alexander graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Alexander is the daughter of Dawn Alexander, of Calumet City. She is a 2009 graduate of Crete-Monee High School.
Arroyo graduates Army training
Army Pfc. Carlos R. Arroyo has graduated from One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood in Waynesville, Mo.
Arroyo is the son Angel and Mirta Arroyo, of Alsip. He is a 2000 graduate of Brother Rice High School in Chicago.
Estrada graduates artillery training
Army Pvt. Antonio X. Estrada has graduated from the Basic Field Artillery Cannon Crewmember Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla.
Estrada is the son of Martha Adkins and the stepson of Mike Torres, both of Park Forest. He is a 2010 graduate of Rich East High School.
