ORLAND PARK
Township to host senior speed dating
Orland Township will host a free evening of speed dating for seniors age 55 and older at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at 94 West Steak and Seafood Restaurant, 15410 S. 94th Ave., Orland Park.
The speed dating portion of the evening will require participants to move table-to-table for five minutes each in order to acquaint themselves with fellow participants.
Complimentary appetizers and soft drinks will be served, and a cash bar will be available. Entertainment will be provided following the introduction sessions.
Registration is required by Sept. 20.

HICKORY HILLS
Club to host craft and vendor fair
The St. Patricia Parents Club will host its Oktoberfest Craft and Vendor Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 23 at St. Patricia School, 9000 S. 86th Ave., Hickory Hills.
The event will feature dozens of crafters and vendors; music, door prizes, raffles, a bake sale and more. Admission is free.

TINLEY PARK
Author to speak on ancestor research
Author Steve Szabados will give a lecture titled “Researching Your Chicago Ancestors” during a meeting of the Tinley Moraine Genealogists on Thursday at Tinley Park Public Library, 7851 Timber Drive.
The doors will open at 6:15, followed by a business meeting at 6:45 p.m. and the lecture at 7 p.m.
Szabados is the author of “Finding Grandma’s European Ancestors” and is a contributing editor for the Polish American Journal.
