Fair Trade Shopping Event: St. Elizabeth Seton Parish will host a fair trade shopping event noon to 7 p.m. Nov. 17 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 18 in the church hall, 9300 W. 167th St., Orland Hills. Crafted by artisans from developing countries, baskets, ornaments, toys, jewelry, teas, coffees, chocolates, musical instruments and other items will be sold by the Ten Thousand Villages organization. Thanksgiving Celebration: The eighth annual “Miracle on 127th Street” Thanksgiving celebration will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 18 at Moraine Valley Church, 6300 W. 127th St., Palos Heights. The community worship service is hosted by a group of local churches of various denominations. This is the third year the observance will be at Moraine Valley Church, the only one large enough to accommodate the crowd. The church will open its cafe to show the Bears game and share coffee and sweets. The program will consist of children leading a parade of nations, a mass adult choir and youth choir.
