Cano graduates basic training
Army Pvt. Alesandro Cano has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.
Cano is a 2009 graduate of Tinley Park High School.

Reft completes Air Force training
Air Force Airman 1st Class Peter M. Reft graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Reft is the son of Chester Reft, of Chicago. He is a 2003 graduate of Rich East High School in Park Forest. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2010 from Columbia College Chicago.

Kirkman awarded ROTC scholarship
Mark P. Kirkman has been awarded an Air Force ROTC scholarship to attend a host college or university.
High school seniors from across the United States are selected after a competitive application process based on comprehensive tests scores, scholastic achievement, school officials’ evaluations, extracurricular activities and community involvement.
Kirkman is the son of Loren and Grace Kirkman, of Lemont; and the grandson of Joseph and Cecelia Finger, of Palos Hills. He is a 2012 graduate of Lemont High School.
