Fair Trade Fair: St. Mary’s ninth annual Fair Trade Fair will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 2 in the lower level of the church, 19515 115th Ave., Mokena. The program begins with Christmas carols and the lighting of the Christmas tree. Then children can make a variety of crafts, including an edible gingerbread house. Gift Drive For Veterans: St. Joseph/St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church, 2453 Oak St., Blue Island, is hosting a holiday potluck party and gift drive for hospitalized and homeless veterans at 4 p.m. Dec. 9. People can bring holiday gifts and survival gear. The gifts will be given to wounded soldiers or homeless veterans at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Hines VA Hospital, and Manteno VA Hospital. Bring the gifts, unwrapped, with a personal card or note.
