Musical Theater: The Presbyterian Church in Orland Park, 13401 S. Wolf Road, will host a holiday concert featuring baritone Jonathan Beyer at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14. The first half of the concert will be operatic and musical theater. The second half will be Christmas music. The concert will include guest mezzo-soprano soloist Joanna Wernette. Cookie, Candy Sale: The Church of the Holy Family, Sauk Trail and Orchard Drive, Park Forest, will host it’s fourth annual Holiday Cookie and Candy Sale 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 15. Breakfast With Santa: Calvary Lutheran Church, 11249 S. Spaulding Ave., Chicago, will host a breakfast with Santa 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 15. Information: (773) 233-3533.

Hurricane Sandy Relief: The United Methodist Church of Worth, 7100 W. 112th St., will have a Christmas cookie sale 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 15. Homemade cookies will be sold for $3 a dozen. Proceeds go to Hurricane Sandy Relief. Information: (708) 448-6682.

Mrs. Scrooge: CBC Productions will perform the play “The Gospel According to Mrs. Scrooge” at 1 and 5 p.m. Dec. 15 in the auditorium at Bloom Trail High School, 22331 Cottage Grove Ave., Chicago Heights. In the play, Mrs. Scrooge tries in court to prove that Christmas is a sham and that God doesn’t really exist. The cost is $20 for the 1 p.m. show and $25 for the 5 p.m. show. Blue Christmas: An Oak Lawn and an Evergreen Park church have teamed up to offer support sessions and a worship experience for people who are struggling with loss or feelings of sadness during the holidays. Pilgrim Faith United Church of Christ, 9411 S. 51st Ave., Oak Lawn, will offer a free session at 2 p.m. Dec. 16 on ways to celebrate Christmas when feeling sad. Soup, Salad Dinner: St. Elizabeth Seton Women’s Club will host a Soup and Salad Dinner Dec. 19 in the Parish Life Center, 9300 W. 167th St., Orland Hills. Doors open at 6 p.m. Food will be provided but participants are encouraged to bring a favorite soup, salad, side dish, appetizer or punch to share. Cost is $3 for members and $5 for guests.
