Blue Christmas: Immanuel United Church of Christ, 9815 S. Campbell, Evergreen Park, will host a Blue Christmas/Longest Night Service at 7 p.m. Friday. This service is for people who are struggling with loss or feelings of sadness during the holidays. Information: (708) 424-3755.

Free Christmas Party: Morgan Park Presbyterian Church, 2017 W. 110th Place, Chicago, will hold a free Community Christmas Party Friday. There will be a holiday dinner at 6 p.m. served in Westminster Hall, followed by a family Christmas concert and carol sing-a-long. The concert will feature Lance Loiselle of the Low Down Brass Band and Beverly musician Shane Jonas, and the Morgan Park Presbyterian Chancel Choir. Information: (773) 779-3355.

Narragansett, Burbank, is hosting its 12th annual Christmas dinner for U.S. servicemen, senior citizens and people who don’t have a place to celebrate the day at 1 p.m. Tuesday. New Year’s Day Bingo: Our Lady of Loretto will hold its annual New Year’s Day Bingo on Jan. 1 at the parish hall, 8925 S. Kostner, Hometown. Doors open at 1 p.m. and games begin at 3 p.m. Admission is $25 for 15 games, which includes two $500 games. The kitchen will offer hot sandwiches, snacks and baked goods. Soup Dinner: Thornton United Methodist Church, 12 Chicago Road, will host its monthly funding ministry dinner 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 16. A New Beginning: The Christian Science Society of Park Forest now has a new meeting place for services. Services are at 10:30 a.m. Sundays at the 21st Century Preparatory School, 242 S. Orchard, Park Forest. The church was formerly known as First Church of Christ, Scientist, Park Forest.

Recovery Support Group: Trinity Church, 26900 Will-Center Road, Monee, has started a Celebrate Recovery Support Group for people who are struggling with alcohol abuse. They meet 7 to 8 p.m. Mondays under the leadership of Amanda Wilson. Information: (708) 534-9084.
