Habitat For Humanity seeks volunteers
Habitat For Humanity Chicago South Suburbs, now in its 25th year of providing low- and middle-income families the opportunity to own their own homes, will host an informational session for people interested in volunteering to work with the organization at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bloom Township Center, 425 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights.
In the past year, Habitat completed its 66th home and also helped another 23 families with weatherization upgrades and other home-related services.
Volunteers are needed to work at job sites, on committees, on fundraising projects and at the ReStore.

FRANKFORT
Hickory Creek Middle School hosts sports week
Hickory Creek Middle School’s second annual Physical Education/Sports Week is taking place through Friday.
The highlight of the week is a students versus staff Pack the Bleachers basketball game at 6 p.m. Thursday at the school, 22160 W. 116th Ave., Frankfort.
Also this week, students are collecting gently used sports equipment to be donated to a local youth charity. Donations of sports equipment can be brought to the school or to the Pack the Bleachers event.

TINLEY PARK
A session about feral cats
An informational session for people who want to learn how to trap feral cats and then take them to be neutered is at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Tinley Park police station, 7850 W. 183rd St.
Presenters will help participants with paperwork and traps will be available for a two-week loan with a deposit that is refundable upon their return.
