News includes Dolton, Lansing, Flossmoor, Olympia Fields, Oak Lawn, Chicago and Blue Island.
Air Force Reserve Airman Michael D. Bullock graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.
He is the son of Rodney Bullock and Kim Frazier-Bullock, of Dolton. Bullock is a 2009 graduate of Illiana Christian High School in Lansing.
Air Force Airman Frank Gary Jr. graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.
A 2010 graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Flossmoor, he is the son of Frank Gary Sr., of Olympia Fields.
Ortega graduates combat training
Army Reserve Pvt. Jose Ortega graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.
A 2012 graduate of Richards High School in Oak Lawn, he is the brother of Alicia Ortega, of Oak Lawn.
Barksdale graduates military training
Air Force Airman David M. Barksdale graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
A 2009 graduate of Thornridge High School in Dolton, he is the son of Latanya Barksdale, of Hammond, Ind.; and grandson of Rosemary Barksdale, of Chicago.
Davenport trains with Japanese force
Army Sgt. Tawana L. Davenport was part of a United States Army Pacific task force that participated in training near Sendi, Japan, with the Japanese ground self-defense force.
Davenport is a cable maintainer and installer assigned to the 78th Signal Battalion, 287th Signal Company at Camp Zama in Japan. The sergeant has served in the military for eight years. She is the daughter of Ruth Lee, of Greenville, Miss., and a 1996 graduate of Eisenhower High School in Blue Island.
