With a Route 66 themed float including a juke box playing patriotic tunes and oldies, these float riders from Palos Evangelical Lutheran Church have plenty of giveaways for the Fourth of July parade in Palos Heights. The float included information about Vacation Bible School which opens July 22. The four-week conversation series will have new topics and speakers this summer. World Youth Day: The archdiocese of Chicago will hold the Midwest Celebration of World Youth Day from 1 to 11 p.m. July 27 at Marian Catholic High School, 700 Ashland Ave., Chicago Heights.
