Here is a look at what Southlanders are accomplishing in college.
News includes Posen, Oak Forest, Mokena, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Frankfort, Lockport, Crestwood, Homer Glen, Lemont, Manhattan, New Lenox and Oak Forest.
Jonathan Reynoso, of Posen, was named to the spring dean’s list at Whittier College in Whittier, Calif.
Illinois State University
Gina Nowaczyk, of Oak Forest, is serving as the director of client services for the student radio station, WZND-FM (103.3), at Illinois State University in Normal.
The daughter of Jim and Mary Nowaczyk is a 2010 graduate of Marist High School in Chicago and plans on graduating from ISU in 2014 with a major in mass media communication.
Emma Limpin, of Mokena, received a doctorate degree from Boston University.
■ Amy Karczewski, of Orland Park, and Victoria Vazquez, of Tinley Park, were inducted into the Rho Mu Chapter of Phi Alpha Honor Society at Lewis University in Romeoville.
■ Jessa Bertinetti, of Tinley Park, received a master’s degree from Lewis University in Romeoville.
She is a 2008 graduate of Andrew High School in Tinley Park.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Thomas Weithers, of Frankfort, and Rajan Patel, of Orland Park, were named to the spring semester dean’s list at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.
University of Kentucky
Several area students were named to the spring semester dean’s list at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. They include:
Frankfort — Saralyn Rebeccah Justus.
Lockport — Kelly Anne Brightmore, Megan Patricia Crowe and Rebecca Nicole Wood.
Mokena — Jessica L. Vorderer.

Moraine Valley Community College
William Deutscher, of Tinley Park, received the James Metzger Memorial Scholarship from the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association Educational and Research Foundation.
Deutscher is a fire science student at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills.
Georgia Institute of Technology
Julianne Marie Camacho, of Orland Park, earned a bachelor’s degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
Philip Piecuch, of Orland Park, received a bachelor’s degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
University of Dayton
Several area students were named to the spring semester dean’s list at the University of Dayton in Ohio. They include:

■ James Perkins was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn.
He is the son of Jim and Coleen Perkins, of Tinley Park.
■ Brittany Flight, of Mokena, received a bachelor’s degree from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn.
She is the daughter of Linda and Kevin Flight, of Mokena.
Milan Udawatta, of Tinley Park, received a bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta.
University of Wisconsin-Platteville
Matthew McMahon, of Frankfort, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
Jaime Juhas, of New Lenox, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at McKendree University in Lebanon, Ill.
St. Bonaventure University
Aaron Chiu, of Tinley Park, was named to the spring dean’s list at St. Bonaventure University in St. Bonaventure, N.Y.
