Caregivers Support: The Ingalls Center for Outpatient Rehabilitation hosts a monthly caregivers support group to help caregivers connect with others, share ideas, problem solve and receive support to get through the rough times. Stroke Support Group: Silver Cross Hospital, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox, hosts stroke survivors, family members or caregivers who would like to be a part of the Silver Cross Neuroscience Institute stroke support group from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Breast-feeding Class: A certified lactation consultant teaches the basics of breast-feeding including establishing a milk supply, breast pumps, avoiding difficulties and more from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Jan. 22 at Silver Cross Hospital, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Crohn’s And Colitis Support: The Illinois Carol Fisher Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America offers a support group for people with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. Weight-Management Program: This Ingalls Health System 12-week healthy lifestyles program is for adults who want to lose weight, improve their overall health and increase physical activity. Weekly group classes are led by a registered dietitian. Classes begin Thursday and run on consecutive Thursdays for 12 weeks at the Ingalls Wellness Center, 19550 Governors Highway, Flossmoor. Better Breathers Support Group: Field experts offer topics relating to lung disease and lung health at the Ingalls Better Breathers Club. Wellness Program Vouchers: Orland Township residents in need of medical services may purchase a discounted wellness program voucher at Orland Township, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park, during office hours. Proof of residency is required. The wellness program offers services such as adult and children’s physicals, podiatry screenings, dental screenings, dental examinations, cleanings and X-rays, nutrition consultations, vision examinations and chiropractic examinations at up to a 50 percent discount. Grief Support For Men: Ingalls Health System offers the monthly free grief support group Straight Talk for men who have experienced the loss of a spouse or significant other. Men deal with grief differently from women. The free support group meets from 6 to 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of every month in the North Building of Ingalls Memorial Hospital, 1 Ingalls Drive, Harvey. Registration is required. Bereavement Support Group: VITAS Innovative Hospice Care offers bereavement support groups to anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one. All groups are free and offer day and evening sessions. A monthly ongoing bereavement support group, Coping With Loss, is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. the first Thursday and 6:30 to 8 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month at the VITAS office, 8525 W. 183rd St., Suite M, Tinley Park. Total Lipid Profile Testing: Orland Township, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park, hosts this testing from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Jan. 16. A nine- to 12-hour fast is required. However, participants should drink water prior to the lipid test. The test price is $25 for residents or $30 for nonresidents. Free blood pressure and glucose testing for an additional $5 are also available on this day. An appointment is necessary. Participants must bring proof of residency on testing day. Sight Impaired Support: People who are coping with visual impairment can turn to Orland Area Sight Impaired Support, which provides support and independent living workshops. Freedom From Smoking: Palos Community Hospital offers this American Lung Association eight-week program for adults from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdays from Jan. 16 to Feb. 27 at the Palos Primary Care Center, 15300 West Ave., Orland Park. Cost of the program is $99. Registration: (708) 226-2300.

Bereavement Support Group: Parents who have experienced the death of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. the third Monday of each month in the Conference Center of Advocate Christ Medical Center, 4440 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn. Postpartum Support: Resources that will allow new mothers to become more knowledgeable about postpartum depression, its causes and available treatment options are available at this free support group. In addition, mothers also will have the opportunity to talk, listen and share their experiences with other women experiencing similar feelings. Prenatal Class: Silver Cross Hospital offers this free class for expectant mothers with Medicaid or no insurance. The two-session class will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 21 and 28 at 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Led by a registered labor and delivery nurse, participants will learn about labor, delivery, recovery, the postpartum period and other birthing options. Class size is limited.
