Alzheimer’s And Dementia Support Group: Hallelujah Temple, 1 Dogwood St., Park Forest, hosts this meeting at 6 p.m. the first Friday of each month. Prenatal Class: Silver Cross Hospital offers a free two-session prenatal childbirth class for expectant mothers with Medicaid or no insurance from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the hospital’s Conference Center, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Breast-feeding Support Group: Silver Cross Birthing Center’s certified lactation consultants host this free group from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and 10:30 a.m. to noon March 28 for English-speaking mothers and 12:30 to 2 p.m. March 28 for Spanish-speaking mothers in the Silver Cross Hospital Conference Center, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Living Well With Diabetes: An internal medicine and geriatrics physician discusses the causes, diagnosis and methods to manage diabetes from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Silver Cross Hospital, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Better Breathers Support Group: Field experts offer topics relating to lung disease and lung health at the Ingalls Better Breathers Club. The free support group is intended for both patients and their families. Better Breathers meets the second Tuesday of the month at the Ingalls Family Care Center, 19550 Governors Highway, Flossmoor. Wellness Program Vouchers: Orland Township residents in need of medical services may purchase a discounted wellness program voucher at Orland Township, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park, during office hours. Proof of residency is required. The wellness program offers services such as adult and children’s physicals, podiatry screenings, dental screenings, dental examinations, cleanings and X-rays, nutrition consultations, vision examinations and chiropractic examinations at up to a 50 percent discount. Eye Health: Dr. Dawn Tuminello hosts a wellness day for Orland Township residents from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 12 at Eye Was Framed Eyecare, 11319 W. 143rd St., Orland Park. Caregivers Support: The Ingalls Center for Outpatient Rehabilitation hosts a monthly caregivers support group to help caregivers connect with others, share ideas, problem solve and receive support to get through the rough times. Crohn’s And Colitis Support: The Illinois Carol Fisher Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America offers a support group for people with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. Pulmonary Support Group: Silver Cross Hospital hosts this free group from 10 to 11 a.m. March 13 in the hospital’s Conference Center, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. The group is for individuals or family members with adult asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, oxygen equipment, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, sarcoidosis, pulmonary fibrosis or respiratory disease. Lemont High School Cardiac Screenings: With the support of donors, the school is partnering with Young Hearts for Life and Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital to offer free screenings for all Lemont High School students whose parents or guardians authorize them to be tested during the school day on March 14. Pulmonary Support: A free group for individuals battling a lung disease such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or emphysema and patients on oxygen or experiencing shortness of breath meets from 1:30 to 3 p.m. the third Monday of each month in the Advocate Christ Medical Center Conference Center, 4440 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn. Sharing The Journey: People who have experienced the death of a significant person in their lives meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. the third Monday of the month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4660 W. 94th St., Oak Lawn. No registration is required. Information: (708) 423-1040.

Bereavement Support Group: Parents who have experienced the death of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. the third Monday of each month in the Advocate Christ Medical Center Conference Center, 4440 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn. Postpartum Support: Resources that will allow new mothers to become more knowledgeable about postpartum depression, its causes and available treatment options are available at this free support group. In addition, mothers also will have the opportunity to talk, listen and share their experiences with other women experiencing similar feelings. Blood Pressure Screenings: Bloom Township and Complete Home Health Services offer free blood pressure screenings from 10 to 11 a.m. the third Wednesday of each month at the Bloom Township Senior Department, 425 S. Halsted St., Chicago Heights. Information: (708) 754-9400.

Breast Prosthesis Display: Women who have undergone a mastectomy have the opportunity to evaluate prosthesis options through this display from 6 to 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at the Advocate Christ Center for Breast Care, 4545 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn. Grief Support For Men: Ingalls Health System offers the monthly free grief support group Straight Talk for men who have experienced the loss of a spouse or significant other. Men deal with grief differently from women. The free support group meets from 6 to 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of every month in Ingalls Memorial Hospital’s North Building, 1 Ingalls Drive, Harvey. Stroke Support: A free group for stroke survivors, their family and friends meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month in the Advocate Christ Medical Center Conference Center, 4440 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn. No registration is required. Information: (800) 323-8622, Code 1X08.

Bereavement Support Group: VITAS Innovative Hospice Care offers bereavement support groups to anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one. All groups are free and offer day and evening sessions. A monthly ongoing bereavement support group, Coping With Loss, is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. the first Thursday and 6:30 to 8 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month at the VITAS office, 8525 W. 183rd St., Suite M, Tinley Park. Breast Cancer Support: A free group for women who have a history of breast cancer and their families meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month at the Advocate Christ Center for Breast Care, 4545 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn. Total Lipid Profile Testing: Orland Township, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park, hosts this testing from 8:30 to 11 a.m. March 20. A nine- to 12-hour fast is required. However, participants should drink water prior to the lipid test. Test price is $25 for residents or $30 for nonresidents. Free blood pressure and glucose testing for an additional $5 are also available on this day. An appointment is necessary. Participants must bring proof of residency. Appointments: (708) 403-4222.

Sight Impaired Support: People who are coping with visual impairment can turn to Orland Area Sight Impaired Support, which provides support and independent living workshops. OASIS meets at 12:30 p.m. the first and third Thursday of every month at Orland Park Church, 7500 W. Sycamore Drive. Information: (708) 460-6573.

Chronic Back Pain Seminar: New treatment options and advanced technologies to bring relief to chronic back pain sufferers will be the focus at this free seminar at 6:30 p.m. March 20 at Franciscan St. James Health, 20201 Crawford Ave., Olympia Fields. Spinal Cord Injury Group: A free support group for individuals with spinal cord injuries and their families and friends meets with other individuals for networking, problem solving and information from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. the fourth Monday of each month at Advocate Christ Medical Center, 4440 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn. Prepared Childbirth Class: Silver Cross Hospital offers a two-week prepared childbirth class from 5:30 to 9 p.m. March 24 and 31 at the hospital’s Conference Center, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Participants will receive instruction from a registered nurse on breathing, relaxation and floor exercise techniques and review the labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum processes. Bariatric Support Group: Silver Cross Hospital in partnership with BMI Surgery hosts this free group for individuals who have undergone weight-loss surgery from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 26 at 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Grief Support Group: The Heroin Epidemic Relief Organization conducts a grief support group for parents and family of anyone who has died as a result of a drug overdose.
