Free family health fair March 23 in Homewood

Ingalls Health System and the Homewood Rotary Club will cosponsor the 31st Annual Free Family Health Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 23 at James Hart School in the H-F Sports Complex, 18211 Aberdeen St., Homewood.

More than 20 screenings and services, including a free total cholesterol blood test, a free 12-lead EKG, cancer screenings and more will be available.

Discounted blood tests include a $10 full lipid profile (HDL, LDL and triglycerides, 12-hour fast required), CBC/anemia test, thyroid profile, hemoglobin A1c for diabetes, and a prostate (PSA) blood test for men not enrolled in Medicare.

Free displays such as mini-stress massages and screenings such as scratch tests for allergies, vision exams, hearing tests, foot screenings and cancer screenings will be available.

Physicians on the Ingalls medical staff will conduct breast health exams, skin cancer screenings and offer colon cancer screening kits. Rotary and community health professionals will conduct oral cancer screenings, cataracts and glaucoma screenings, back and neck chiropractic exams and more.

Register at Ingalls.org/HealthFair for a separate line and faster registration. Appointments are not necessary for any of the day’s screenings.
