Wellness Wednesday: Orland Township hosts this from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. March 26 in the Orland Township Activity Center, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park. An appointment is necessary. Residents can have their blood pressure checked for no charge and glucose levels checked by a registered medical professional for $5. Bariatric Support Group: Silver Cross Hospital in partnership with BMI Surgery hosts this free group for individuals who have undergone weight-loss surgery from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 26 at 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Free Health Fair: Smith Village, a continuing care retirement community at 2320 W. 113th Place, Chicago, will hold a free health fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 26. There will be healthy recipes, screenings, fitness tips and more. The general public is invited — especially retirees. The fair will include tasting samples prepared by executive chef David Somerfield, who promotes the health benefits of consuming a Mediterranean-style diet, according to executive director Marti Jatis. Scoliosis Screenings: Dr. Anthony Rinella, spine surgeon, will offer free scoliosis screenings Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Silver Cross Health Center, 12701 W. 143rd St., Homer Glen. To register, call (877) 694-7722. The screenings are free and available for children and adults.

Postpartum Support: Resources that will allow new mothers to become more knowledgeable about postpartum depression, its causes and available treatment options are available at this free support group. In addition, mothers also will have the opportunity to talk, listen and share their experiences with other women experiencing similar feelings. Senior CPR Class: Orland Township, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park, will host a free senior CPR class for residents 55 and older at 1 p.m. May 13. Health Fair Screenings: Loyola Medicine’s mobile unit will be at Orland Township, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 22 to conduct heart disease, stroke and aneurysm screenings. The following six tests will be available for $179: echocardiogram (ECHO) ultrasound test, electrocardiogram (EKG), hardening of the arteries (ASI) test, stroke/carotid artery ultrasound test, peripheral arterial disease (PAD) test, and the abdominal aortic aneurysm ultrasound.
