“Real Places Seen in Dreams,” an exhibit of mixed-media works by Carla Winterbottom, is to open with a reception from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 18 at the Health in the Arts Clinic and Gallery at the University of Illinois-Chicago, 835 S. Wolcott Ave., No. E144.

Winterbottom’s studio is in Blue Island, according to a press release about the event.

Admission to the reception is free and includes music by Rick Therrio and Friends. The exhibit continues through June 6, the release said. Gallery hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, except Wednesdays, when it closes at 3 p.m.
