Self-defense Seminar: A free, interactive self-defense seminar for women is slated for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Rich Township Senior Center, 297 Liberty Drive, Park Forest. State Rep. Anthony DeLuca, D-Chicago Heights, is hosting the seminar, and Frank Sharpe Jr., of Fortress Defense and Defense Training International, will be the instructor. Coffee With a Cop: The Orland Park Police Department will host Coffee with a Cop at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Panera Bread, 15252 S. LaGrange Road. The program offers residents the chance to meet local officers and discuss community issues at a neutral site and in an informal setting. Residents can ask questions and learn more about police work in Orland Park neighborhoods. Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by the U.S. Department of Justice, a release from Orland Park police said. The program aims to advance community policing by improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time, it said.
