Starry Nights Concert: Staff Infection & the South Side Horns — a rock band whose members are faculty, staff and alumni from Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School — will be the featured act in the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District’s Starry Nights concert, set for 7 p.m. Thursday at Irwin Park, 18120 Highland Ave., Homewood. Staff Infection’s specialty is brass-heavy rock and roll, but concertgoers can expect to hear Motown hits and songs from horn-heavy bands and artists, such as Chicago and Stevie Wonder. The gates open at 6 p.m. for this free show. Games will be available for kids, and food and drink from local vendors will be for sale.
Low Ropes Course: The Orland Park-based Bridge Teen Center is teaming up with Camp Manitoqua for a low-ropes-course event from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Camp Manitoqua & Retreat Center, 8122 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort. There will be team challenges on the low ropes course. The free event is for teens in seventh through 12th grades.
