St. Symphorosa Parish, at 62nd Street and Austin Avenue in Chicago, will hold its 20th annual Family Fest from 6 to 11 p.m. July 10 and 11, from 1 to 11 p.m. July 12, and from 1 to 10 p.m. July 13.
Live music includes Infinity at 7:30 p.m. July 10; Maggie Speaks at 7:30 p.m. July 11; Sixteen Candles at 7:30 p.m. July 12; Good Times Polka Band at 1 p.m. July 13, and Cavern Beat at 6:30 p.m. July 13.
Darla’s Dancers will perform at 4 p.m. July 12.
“Family Fun Afternoon” contests held on July 12 include jump rope (1:15 p.m.), oldest/youngest person at the fest (2 p.m.), bubble gum blowing (2:30 p.m.), newest/longest married couple at the fest (3 p.m.) and seed spitting (3:30 p.m.). Musical entertainment between contests will be provided by disc jockeys Jamz and Twist, former Disney disc jockeys.
Bingo games will be held every day in the I-Hall, which may be accessed using the east parking lot of the church.
The carnival midway will be from 61st to 63rd streets on Austin Avenue. Young children’s games and attractions, merchandise booths, a special raffle booth and hooligan games also will be featured.
A $20-per-ticket grand raffle offering a top prize of $10,000 will be held.
The fest food court will offer specialties and treats from a variety of popular food vendors including Cozzi Cones, El Patron Mexican Food, Harmony Chinese Food, The Strawberry Patch Hot Foods & Desserts, Villa Rosa Pizza and Vince’s Pizza.
St. Sym’s Kitchen will feature authentic Polish food from Peaches and Pears Restaurant as well as offering some food specials each day.
