GSU Undergrad Open House: Governors State University, 1 University Parkway, University Park, will hold an open house for freshmen and transfer students from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The open house will allow students to see the campus; learn about the learning communities that foster civic engagement, global citizenship and sustainability; get a glimpse into living on campus and learn more about campus resources and safety, and more. Trinity Covenant Vacation Bible school: Trinity Evangelical Covenant Church, 9230 S. Pulaski Road, Oak Lawn, will host SonTreasure Island Vacation Bible School from 9 to 11:30 a.m. July 14 to 18. The free school is for kids age 3 through sixth grade. There will be Bible stories, crafts, snacks, games and much more.
