Lemonade Stand for Cancer Fight: Brooklyn Brown will host an Alex’s Lemonade Stand from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Joe Orr Road and Winston Lane, Chicago Heights, to help fight childhood cancer. Brooklyn read and was amazed by the story of Alex Scott, a cancer patient who in 2000, at age 4, announced she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure. That led to the creation of the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, which has raised more than $75 million for pediatric cancer research. Donations also can be made by visiting www.alexslemonade.org/mypage/1117722.

Free Outdoor Concert: A free outdoor concert hosted by Family Harvest Church’s Saturday night band, Jesus Fest, is slated for 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Metra Oak Park Avenue train station, 6700 W. South St., Tinley Park. A group from the church has been passing out free snacks and beverages on Saturday nights as part of a global movement called “servolution,” the goal of which is to spark a revolution through service.
