Library hosts Incredible Edible contest

Homewood Public Library recently held its Incredible Edible contest in which participants of all ages were required to re-create their favorite book using food products.
The Wayne family won the Most Creative award for their rendition of “How to Eat Fried Worms” by Thomas Rockwell. The Lyseng family won the Most Pun-diful award for their “Harry Porker and the Sorcerer’s Soup” based on the J.K. Rowling book “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”
The Bandstra family won Best of Show for their creation “Family Favorites,” which included “Curious George” by Margret and H.A. Rey; “Charlotte’s Web” by E.B. White; a cookbook and a Bible.
An Honorable Mention went to Philo Zarkenormian for her recreation of Greek myths using rice pilaf as Mount Olympus.
Judges were Jen Sesto from Art for Soul, Brian Latman from Just Turkey in Homewood, and library administrator Cindy Rauch.
