Hillcrest students visit Frankfort bakery

Students in the “Baking Basics” class at Hillcrest High School recently took a trip to Sweet Dreams Cakes in Frankfort.
Students learned about working in a bakery, both in front of the store and in the back room.
Students worked at stocking, placing orders, measuring, baking and finally decorating, all while following proper safety and sanitation guidelines.
“I learned that a bakery is run a lot more efficiently than I thought,” senior Jasmine Bradford said. “It takes a great deal of hard work, but their organization and teamwork really helped out.”
