Society to host Bartel trip
The Thorn Creek Audubon Society will sponsor a field trip to Bartel Grassland at 4 p.m. Saturday. Participants should meet in the parking lot at Central Avenue and Flossmoor Road in Matteson.

ORLAND PARK
Library Silent Film Festival
Orland Park Public Library, 14921 S. Ravinia Ave., will host its Silent Film Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The event will feature silent newsreels, shorts and feature films on a large screen, with a live pianist accompanying each film segment.
Featured films will include “The Great Train Robbery” (1903), “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” (1931) and “Steamboat Bill Jr.” (1928).

MOKENA
Park district Valentine Bowl
The Mokena Park District will host its Mother and Son Valentine Bowl for mothers and sons ages 5 to 10 from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 16 at Morgan’s Thunder Bowl, 18700 S. Old LaGrange Road, Mokena.
The cost is $35 per couple for residents and $40 per couple for nonresidents. The cost is $15 for each additional child. Payment is due Friday. Registration is required.
