No. 1 Lincoln-Way North 9, Benet 9: Josh Reid (3-for-4, 2 runs) doubled twice and drove in two runs for visiting Lincoln-Way North (24-1-1). Ryan Pellack (2-for-4) and Reed Hero (2-for-4) also compiled two RBI for the Phoenix in the contest that was halted by darkness after seven innings. The game will not be completed.

No. 3 St. Laurence 4, No. 8 Brother Rice 1: Mike Kornacker (5-1) pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings and Zach Lewis hit a pair of RBI doubles to pace host St. Laurence (20-6, 13-2) in the Catholic League Blue. Kevin Biondic stroked an RBI double for Brother Rice (17-10, 9-6).

No. 5 Lemont 7, Oak Forest 1: Charlie Wright (6-hitter, 10 strikeouts) tossed a complete game and Jake Terrazas delivered a two-run single to spark visiting Lemont (14-4, 13-1) in the South Suburban Blue. Mike Papierski (3-for-4, run) and Bobby Hayes also posted two RBI for the Indians. Brian Richard (2-for-4) swatted an RBI single for Oak Forest (13-11).

Lincoln-Way West 3, No. 7 Sandburg 2: Luke Morgan (single) and Zach Speaker (sacrifice fly) delivered fifth-inning RBI to make host Lincoln-Way West (16-8) a winner in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Steve Skolarz allowed three hits in going the route for the Warriors. Alec Nelson provided an RBI double for Sandburg (17-6).

No. 9 Rich Central 14, Bloom 2: David Dugger (3-for-3) registered three RBI and Jalen Purchase (5-0) struck out six in pitching a complete game for host Rich Central (18-3, 11-1) in the five-inning Southland contest.

Reavis 5, Argo 2: Jose Romero and Matt Barajas had two RBI apiece for visiting Reavis (15-9, 9-4) in the nine-inning tilt. Belal Abuzir (6-3) struck out five in going the distance for the Rams in the South Suburban Red. Dustin Krob fanned seven over eight innings for Argo (11-14, 5-11).

Crete-Monee 10, Rich East 0: Chris Cockle pitched a no-hitter and also contributed an RBI to lead visiting Crete-Monee (18-4, 11-1) in the five-inning Southland contest. Jake Bishop (2-for-3) tacked on a double and three RBI for the Warriors.

Tinley Park 7, T.F. North 3: Mark Suarez (2-for-4) accumulated two runs and two RBI for host Tinley Park (13-10, 9-7) in the South Suburban Blue.

Marian Catholic 6, Stagg 5: Brent Feldner’s seventh-inning double scored Patrick Swanson with the winning run for host Marian Catholic (16-8). Jimmy Farnan (2-for-2) and Brandon Campbell each had two RBI for Stagg (10-17).

Evergreen Park 7, Eisenhower 3: Mike Reuter (3-for-4, run) hit a two-run single and totaled three RBI to show the way for host Evergreen Park (12-11, 9-6) in the South Suburban Red. Dan Kohler (3-for-4) chipped in two runs and two RBI for the Mustangs.

Loyola 6, Providence 2: Shawn Cavalone hit an RBI single for host Providence (9-16, 3-12) in the Catholic League Blue.

Kankakee 5, Rich South 2: Malcolm Jones and Kyle Stancil recorded RBI for host Rich South (6-14, 2-10) in the Southland.

Richards 10, T.F. South 3: Jake Kendryna (1-for-1) finished with two runs and two RBI to aid visiting Richards (11-5, 8-6) in the South Suburban crossover. Jim Wujcik scored three runs for the Bulldogs, who built an 8-2 lead after two innings. Steve Stubitsch (1-for-4) contributed one run and one RBI for T.F. South (12-10, 8-7).

Bremen 12, Hillcrest 0: David Strom’s three hits and three runs keyed visiting Bremen (15-9, 9-6) in the five-inning South Suburban Blue tilt.

T.F. South 19, T.F. North 3: Home runs by Cori Reynolds (2-for-4, 2 runs, 3 RBI) and Daviea Cowans (4-for-4, 2 runs) powered visiting T.F. South (9-11, 7-9) in the five-inning South Suburban Blue game.

Sandburg 5, Downers Grove South 4: Ellie Forkin hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to win it for Sandburg (11-12). Karli McLaughlin (2-run double) and Meg Flaherty (2-run single) also starred for the Eagles.

Reavis 10, Evergreen Park 2: Jamie Harcar (1-for-2) chalked up three RBI and Ally Balandis (2 unearned runs, 6 strikeouts) went the distance to lift host Reavis (10-13, 8-9) in the South Suburban Red.

Richards 11, Shepard 9: Breanna Kaminski’s two-run homer in the top of the seventh made the difference for Richards (14-5, 14-2) in the South Suburban Red. Sara Tobin (5-for-5) aided the cause for the Bulldogs with two runs and two RBI.

Chicago Christian 8, Bremen 1: Davina Gutierrez (6 strikeouts) spun a five-hitter and Megan Glynn (2-for-3, run) racked up two RBI to spur Chicago Christian (13-6) in Midlothian. Abbie Bulthuis (2-for-3) added two runs for the Knights.

Oak Lawn 12, Eisenhower 1: Rachel Burba (4-for-5) had four RBI and Morgan Jozsa (2-for-5, 3 RBI) smashed a two-run single to lead visiting Oak Lawn (9-11, 7-7) in the South Suburban Red.

Crete-Monee 9, Kankakee 2: Sarah Rizzo surrendered one earned run and struck out 12 in recording a complete game for host Crete-Monee (12-7, 11-1) in the Southland.

Trinity 12, Mount Assisi 0: Shannon Desparrois had one of three hits on the day for Mount Assisi in the five-inning quarterfinal at Triton.

Loyola 6, Queen of Peace 0: Caitlin Haughey (3-for-3) produced a homer and two RBI in guiding host Loyola to a semifinal berth.

Lincoln-Way East 25-25, Andrew 12-22: Nate Van Dellen had eight kills and Robbie Hoffman added six digs to boost visiting Lincoln-Way East (29-3, 8-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Sanil Thomas paced Andrew (13-13-2) with nine assists and six digs.

Brother Rice 25-25, Mount Carmel 12-22: Jim Dwyer dished out 11 assists and Ryan Paull spiked eight kills to propel host Brother Rice (20-7, 8-1) in the Catholic League Blue.

Sandburg 25-25, Joliet Central 12-9: Ian Zalewski chalked up 12 assists and five kills to spur host Sandburg (23-7, 5-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. The Eagles also received 16 assists from Joe Marchese and nine digs from Nick Leno.

Lockport 8, Joliet Central 0: Courtney Hackett, Shannon Pedone and Melina Ramirez were among the goal scorers for host Lockport (13-3, 6-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Reavis 6, Argo 1: Celeste Lara’s hat trick ignited Reavis (10-8) at Toyota Park.

Andrew 4, Bradley 1: Alex Annerino had a goal for host Andrew (13-4-1, 5-1) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Lincoln-Way Central 14, Lincoln-Way West 10: Tristan Funk netted four goals to pace visiting Lincoln-Way Central in the play-in round. Ryan Sterling and Alex McCormick added three goals apiece for the Knights.

Wrestling: Lincoln-Way Central Athletic Director Hud Venerable and wrestling coach Jason DePolo have been named Class 3A Administrator of the Year and Head Coach of the Year, respectively, by the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association.

College Softball

NAIA Tournament: St. Xavier is the No. 1 seed in its tournament for the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. The Cougars’ first game is Monday against No. 4 seed MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) in Portland. The starting time had yet to be determined.
