Theater Camp: Calvary Church, 16100 S. 104th Ave., Orland Park, will host a Spotlight Youth Theater Summer Camp for youths ages 5 to 18. The camp, which runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. .July 22 to 26, focuses on developing interests in singing, dancing, acting and other theater-related skills. After camp classes in dance, voice, drama and theatrical specialties also are available. The program also helps students with special needs to participate in classes and productions. Carnival: Most Holy Redeemer Parish, 95th Street and Lawndale Avenue, Evergreen Park, will host its annual family carnival June 12 to 16. There will be carnival rides and games, entertainment, food vendors and Saturday night bingo. Hours are 6 to 11 p.m. June 14, 4 to 11 p.m. June 15 and 3 to 10 p.m. June 16. Arts and Crafts Sought: Artists and craftsmen can reserve selling space for the 38th annual “Old Campground Festival” slated for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 22. The event, sponsored by the United Methodist Church of New Lenox will take place outdoors at the wooded campgrounds just off U.S. 30 in New Lenox. Fee for a 12-foot by 15-foot space is $45. Free Meal: The first of three free community meals offered in Oak Lawn this summer will be at 6 p.m. June 23 at the Menard Center at 90th and Menard. Up to 100 meals will be served on a first come, first served basis to all who could use a free meal or want to share a meal with others in the community. “One Community: One Meal” is a joint venture of the Oak Lawn Clergy and Religious Workers Association, the Muslim American Society and The Mosque Foundation in Bridgeview. Similar meals will be Aug. 18 and Sept. 15.
Pop Concert: St. Alexander Parish, 7025 W. 126th St., Palos Heights, will be the site of the Father Stanley Rudcki Heritage Concert Series’ “A Celebration of Independence Day” with a pop concert of American music at 3:30 p.m. June 23. The music performed by the Palos Symphony, directed by Patrick Mooney, will include “Camelot,” “The Sound of Music,” “My Fair Lady,” “Gigi,” “Music Man” and an Armed Forces Salute with an audience sing-a-long.
