POT POSSESSION: Mohamed Awwad, 21, 16825 Sheridans Trail, Orland Park, and Nayef Abuhamdeh, 21, 7818 167th St., Tinley Park, were charged with possession of marijuana after being questioned Aug. 23 in the parking lot of Orland Square Mall, police said.
CREDIT FRAUD: Baru McDowell, 21, 1026 132nd St., Chicago, was charged with unlawful use of a credit card after stealing a co-worker’s credit card Aug. 26 from an employee locker at The Home Depot, 7300 159th St., and using it to buy a bag of Cheetos, police said.
WEAPON CHARGE: Gregory Scherer, 57, 8632 144th Place, Orland Park, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon after threatening a 30-year-old Orland Park man with a machete Aug. 27 in the parking lot of Jewel-Osco, 9350 159th St., police said. They said Scherer became angry with the other man when he honked at him and called him an “old man.”
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Julio Olea, 35, 15145 El Cameno Real Drive, 2S, Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery after an Aug. 29 incident at his home, police said.
DUI ARREST: Joseph Gavron, 64, 12816 Misty Harbour Lane, Palos Park, was charged with drunken driving and running a red light after hitting a parked car Aug. 30 in the parking lot of Whole Foods, 15260 LaGrange Road, police said.
DUI CHARGE: Roberto Suarez, 33, 1019 Sweetwater Trail, New Lenox, was charged with drunken driving and improper lane use after a Sept. 2 stop in the 15800 block of Wolf Road, police said.
DUI CASE: Christopher Mair, 20, 14256 Luna Ave., Midlothian, was charged with drunken driving, improper lane use, having expired registration and no insurance after a stop Sept. 2 in the 9500 block of 143rd Street, police said.
RETAIL THEFT: Brian Fox, 32, 4018 93rd Place, Oak Lawn, was charged with retail theft after stealing a $480 vacuum Sept. 3 from Sears at Orland Square Mall and then pawning it for $250 at EZ Pawn on Southwest Highway, police said.
MARIJUANA CHARGE: Stephen Williams Jr., 23, of Calumet City, was charged with possession of marijuana, driving on a suspended license, illegal transportation of alcohol, no insurance and not wearing a seat belt after being stopped Sept. 4 in the 9300 block of Sunrise Lane, police said.
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Vincent Diosdado, 38, 17195 Highwood Drive, Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery after a disturbance Sept. 4 at his home, police said.
