After a trillion dollars spent in Iraq and Afghanistan, what is next? We won the battle but are losing the nation-building war in Iraq from poor governance, lack of inclusion and corruption.

After living large on foreign aid, will the Iraqi military hold the Iraqi capital and oil centers? A highly motivated insurgency is sweeping south and will seize more and more Iraqi military hardware, getting stronger, thus controlling the oil fields and causing the collapse of the Iraqi state.

There will be an even greater exodus of refugees to the surrounding countries of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iran and Turkey.

Obama and the American people’s stomach for war and a crusade for democracy now is greatly diminished. This instability in the Mideast will end badly with even greater economic and oil sanctions in the region.

Plenty of eyesores

The Trump Tower signage an eyesore on Chicago’s cityscape?

Certainly not as much as those filthy billboards we’ve had to look at over the years.
