State title game. You’re in it. What team would you most like to beat for the championship? Why?
Hillcrest. We never beat them.
Hillcrest has had the Cardinals’ number for years. Why do you think that is? Is it mental?
I don’t think it’s mental. I think most of the time they just have better talent than we do.
Take your pick: LeBron or D-Rose?
D-Rose. He’s the better all-around player.
If you could have your pick, what celebrity would you choose as your prom date?
Nicki Minaj.
You’re on a deserted island. You could have an endless supply of one food. What would it be?
A cheese-and-sausage pizza from Beggars.
What’s your key to being a good jump shooter?
I take 500 jump shots a day. I start out shooting threes all around the perimeter. I’ve been able to shoot since the third grade.
Given the chance, what person, dead or alive, would you most like to meet? Why?
Michael Jordan. He worked so hard to become the best.
What’s the best part of being a student-athlete at Eisenhower?
Everybody is just nice. It really doesn’t matter if you’re a student-athlete. There’s just a lot of nice people at school.
Ten years from now, when you’re talking about coach Mike Curta, what’s the first thing that will come to mind?
His system (which demands full-court pressure on defense and the ability to take a shot within 12 seconds of a possession on offense). It’s tiring.
As told to Pat Disabato
