Unidentified woman found dead in Chicago Heights

Chicago Heights police are investigating the death of an unidentified woman found half-covered in snow Friday afternoon in the 1300 block of Otto Boulevard.

Police responded to a call about 1:30 p.m. Friday, and found a female lying facedown next to a residential garage. The body was half-covered with snow and showed no signs of life, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office said the cause of death is undetermined, pending the police investigation.

Illinois State Police crime scene unit was called in to process the scene, and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is assisting Chicago Heights police detectives with the death investigation, police said.
