Prairie State College recently named Diane Conaster as executive director of information technology services. She has been interim executive director since the position became available in May 2011.

In the role, she will continue to provide direction for developing and implementing ITR projects. She will oversee PSC’s technological resources, work with the Technology Planning Committee to implement the strategic plan for technology, and provide oversight for future developments.

Conaster also will oversee the planning, acquisition and operation of ITR, and work to accomplish the PSC’s technological goals and objectives.

Prior to joining the staff at PSC, Conaster was the chief information officer/associate to the president for technology and communications at Chicago State University, where she served for 10 years. Before that, she held various management roles with both the City of Odessa, Texas, and Sungard Higher Education in Dallas, Texas.

“Ms. Conaster is an experienced higher education professional with more than 20 years in technology related fields,” said Alan Robertson, vice president for finance and administration. “Some experience highlights which relate directly to our institution include strategic technology planning, administrative software system enhancement/upgrade, implementing end user reporting tools, and disaster recovery/business continuity planning.”

Conaster has a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Chicago State University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from Augustana College in Rock Island.
